Data Consulting Group, representing the United States Health Information Knowledgebase website (AHRQ) for the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ), recently participated in the North American 2015 Connectathon which was sponsored by Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise (IHE). An IHE Connectathon is a week long, on site testing event during which hundreds of developers and health information technology professionals test a vast array of technology solutions from across the health information technology arena. This year's Connectathon took place in Cleveland, Ohio, from January 26 - January 30, 2015.
DCG participated in this year's North American Connectathon with a series of partners from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Food and Drug Administration (FDA), California Department of Public Health (CDPH), and various other private vendors from across the nation. The focus of DCG's testing efforts was the new IHE Profile for Structured Data Capture (SDC). This work expands upon work executed by DCG team for the Standards & Interoperability (S&I) Framework, sponsored by the Office of the National Coordinator.
Following several months of development effort, the DCG team was able to successfully demonstrate the features of a "Form Manager with Pre-population". The DCG team was also able to successfully implement and test additional IHE profiles including those for Consistent Time, Audit Trail and Node Authentication, and Retrieve Form for Data Capture.
DCG was well represented in Cleveland by Matthew Chudy (Technical Manager), Michael Daskas (Software Developer) and Alex Dimitrijeski (Software Developer). "This was an exciting experience," recounted Matthew Chudy, "to be working and solving practical problems alongside the teams of developers who have built America's health IT infrastructure."
