Provider

Healthcare providers are currently facing complex and unparalleled challenges to reduce cost and improve quality in the face of heavy regulation and shrinking reimbursement. Providers will need to re-invent their operations to create efficiencies and adopt technologies to improve patient care.

Key challenges providers are facing:

Receiving Outcome-Based Payments
  • Uncertainty as many variations may surface: bundled payments, episode of care, shared savings programs, etc.
Juggling Government Mandates
  • Balancing the requirements of International Classification of Diseases 10th Revision (ICD-10), Meaningful Use Stage 2 (MU2), Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and Physician Quality Reporting System (PQRS)
Dealing With Changing Payer Operating Models
  • Increases in cost due to increased requirements for prior authorization
Managing Employee Satisfaction"
  • Potential for increased burnout and dissatisfaction
  • Reduction in work-life balance due to increasing pressures on providers
Managing Increasing Technology Costs
  • Regulations require large and small practices to invest on new technology to be in compliance
Competing with New Primary Care Models
  • New models are surfacing (for example - Patient-Centered Medical Homes (PCMHs), Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs)) to compete with traditional models
